Hey all,
I just recently bought an epson stylus 1400 and was having maaad issues with the opacity of the ink. Even with all the settings dialed in, I couldn't get a dark enough negative. But...........I came across a solution, sorry, this might be old news, but i'm waay excited!!! Hairspray is the answer. just spray the rough side of the vellum (the inkjet side) with a thin coat of any hairspray, let dry for a few, and spray another. What this is doing is creating an absorption layer for the ink to settle into. I was sick of double and sometimes triple printing images just to get them dark enough. So, there it is, just buy some hairspray, spray the vellum, let dry and print like normal!!! See ya

Why not just buy decent screen positive film?????????????????????????????
I have screen positive films, but i don't know why, but i like experimenting with different things i found it to be exciting... Besides there's people on this board that are doing this as a hobby and really don't want to a lot of money on these films, so they chose the cheapy route.
Hi,
I have tried it on two different types of vellum, one that I got from a screen printing store (1.50each ) and the other I just bought normal transparency from office max or depot. As for buying decent film....$$$$$$ money money money, It seems that a whole lot of people on these forums just tell you to buy top tier equipment and supplies and you'll be good, but not all people can afford that, so we are left to figure out alternate ways to do things, ...the way it should be
I hope I helped!
