Default Changing ink type in cis

I have an Epson 1400 and i'm curently using a cis with dye inks. I want to quit using the dye inks and start using the pigmented inks. My question is can I use the bulk ink tanks I have and just clean & change the inks or do I have to buy a whole new cis. The company I bought the cis from does not offer the pigmented inks for this printer but other companys do. Will I have trouble with clogging if I use pigmented ink in this printer?
Thanks.

Default Re: Changing ink type in cis

You may be able to. Usually, buying the tanks and inks from the same supplier is better for when you have issues, the person will help you instead of trying to send you to the *other* guy... but some folks here do buy their tanks at one place (like ebay) and get their inks elsewhere. If no one else chimes in with more info... you have one vote that it's worth a try. CIS' are expensive.
