Discuss the different brands, makes and models of printers used to print inkjet and laser heat transfers. Also includes information on the inks that can be used to make your own transfers.
Jay,
I'm thinking of getting refills for my newest printer but I've got to do some research first.
Keep us posted on how it goes. Do a video!
Hope some come along to help you out.

a video??? i'm sure it will be a comedy.lol
i've re-read the instructions and still have issues so i think i'll be bothering Ross at inkjetcarts for awhile.
That is just what I was going to suggest you do, call Ross. From everything that I have read, he is great at this, patient, and will help get your system up and running. The reputation he has for this, and how great people say the inks are, is pretty much why I am going to go with him. I hope your experience, and my future one, with Ross lives up to the hype.
Good luck, I hear once you are past installation, it is really great having these systems (for the most part, until there is a clog!)
Ok, I have questions.
You don't have tubes with refills right? Isn't that CIS?
What make the clogs?
Yes Jay a video of your adventure would be cool.
Susie
cartridges came emply. Ross only has the 3rd party claria type prefilled for my 1400. I went with pigment.

Its the refill tanks not the cis.
The clogging people have is apparently do to air being left in the heads. air dries the ink and dried inks lead to clogs
That is my main concern as the 1400 uses a vacuum system and the first step in refilling is using the 60ml syringe to put in ink (in the first tank) while pumping out air. Getting all the air out is vital. Somehow getting the first tank right makes a differance. Still trying to figure that one out.
I think i want a white lab jacket!

Jay,
Thanks for telling me about the clogging issue.
I just happened to have watched a video that looks something like what you are referring to
here:
You can wear a white lab jacket and I'll wear some of my plastic cake decorating gloves.
Susie
I have one with Pigment Ink and one with Dye Ink. I like the Dye Ink better less cleaning cycles.
Both are 1400's.
I actually bought from 2 different places.
One from super smart it's a store on ebay and I use my dye with them. They have good inks. I was surprised!!! Inexpensive and the shirts wear really good.
The other place is a gal who sells lots of this stuff and her store is also on ebay and her pigment ink is really good.
Her instructions for epson 1400 filling are unbeatable explains why she has 50,000 feedback at 99.9%.
and a video...
(while this is not the 1400, it is a "pressure fill" video!
and another video ...
ATTN: this is not the same type of cart, because this cart's vent hole is on the bottom of the cart, but it does show how to "pressure fill".
