Default Problem printing transfers on a HP 8550 Laserjet

I have a HP Laserjet 8550. I tried Lasersoft paper in it and it melted into and bound all up in the fuser. Anyone have any ideas how to make transfers (t-shirt and Mug) with the HP Laserjet 8550?

Where did you get the Lasersoft paper from?

Is it definitely supposed to work with your HP Laserjet?

Purchased from Pro world. They said it was supposed to work in the HP laserjet.

We have noticed that HP's printers typically run too hot and will melt the paper during the fusing process...giving the mess you described. For that reason, we don't suggest HP laser printers when doing transfers. If you want to continue with transfers and would consider buying a new printer, I would look at an Okidata.

Thanks. What is really strange is that I bought some laserjet paper to make mug transfers and ran it through the same lserjet... it goes through with no problems at all and works great.

I actually want to go to sublimation printing eventually, but want to see if there is a market for the mugs I'll be making before I invest all that money. So, I've been trying to find a place for reasonably priced small runs of transfers for mugs using the graphics I already have.... no luck... any ideas on who might do this?

Bob

I also have a HP8550, and am having problems with mugs (using Image Clip paper).

Can you let me know what paper you use?
