I manage my shirt inventory in Excel, but it is easy since there is 1 there or not. I have having problem keeping track of how many inches or yards of vinyl I have. Looking for any ideas of how other keep track. I would like to be at a point to know that if a customer orders 5 shirts I know if I need to purchase vinyl without having to go through everything. Thanks

All I do is guesstimate. In my inventory I keep a rough estimate of vinyl used. If popular colors in inventory get low, I order in advance. Special orders are just that for my customers, I give them an option, use what I have in stock or wait for vinyl to come in.Troy, how many colors do you stock? Mike

Oh right now I have probably...20 colors. I would just go order 5 yrds of everything, but I worry about it going bad. I dont do a lot of vinyl jobs, but I am changing to a min order for screen printing, so I am sure that will change.
