Default HELP-With Pricing for B'ball Shirts

I have a b'ball league that wants me to do t-shirts for their teams. They would be a regular t-shirt, which is about $1.89, a 2 color front with a 1 color small number up on the shoulder and then the team name and number on the back in one color. The 2 color fronts from Howards are approximately $1.83 each, so I just need to know about putting a vinyl number on the front shoulder and then doing the names and numbers on the back in vinyl. I am doing about 150 of these, but they are probably 19 teams of about 8 players (so 19 different names on the back). thanks.

What size is your name/number combo on the back? Also is the shoulder number a 4" or 3"?

3" number on shoulder and probably a 6" number on the back and the name about 1.5" tall, but that depends on the size of the sponsor name.

The best thing to do is to mock up or calculate how many yards of material the job is going to use. Then calculate the landed cost per yard.

Divide the landed cost of all yardage by the number of completed garments. This is your cost of materials per piece which should also include the front transfer and the cost of the shirt.

Next, calculate a labor rate. Take the amount of time that it takes you to do a shirt and break down how many dollars in labor are spent per shirt - include everything from weeding to heat pressing to folding your garments and boxing them.

Lastly add in an overhead percentage. If you don't have an overhead percentage that you use for your shop, read the article at this link.

Now - add these 3 components and add your profit margin for this type of job.

If this is all too complicated I have a webinar that I do on this once every couple months. PM me if you want a download copy of one - it lasts about 60 minutes.

I sent you an e-mail, but that is way over my head!!! hehehe I was looking at transfer express names/numbers to see if it was cheaper to do it that way, but i just can't seem to get it right. I have 19 teams, each team will have 10 shirts. All the teams can have the same numbers, probably numbers 1-5 and 10-14. They would be 8" numbers on the back and 3 or 4" number on the front. I will need 19 different sponsor names and 10 of each of those names. Does that make sense? Is it better to use express names from transfer express or some place rather than cutting and weeding all that?

One thing to consider ( and I do not know your experience level) is the amount of practice and the experience gained by doing this in vinyl if that is the only equipment you have.
The transfers could be cheaper but if you need the experience do it yourself .
For pricing I use an excel spread sheet that I can send you if your interested.

Just my 3 cents
Dave

I am doing the front logo in plastisol, but I thought the numbering might be better to use my cutter, however, maybe I should buy prespaced names and numbers or something?
