I got a client who wants to do 2 color design on 100 shirts with LEFT chest design, BACK side design and a SLEEVE design. I don't own a screenprinting shop so the only way for me to fulfill this order would be by doing Plastisol transfer. But my dilemma is that I only have one heatpress and I would have to do it all by myself. Technically this is almost like making 300 shirts because each shirt requires 3 heat presses. So this job would actually take me twice if not three times as long than that of a screenprinting company who use conveyor dryers.
So I was thinking of quoting him $7 per shirt (including the shirt) but now that I think of how much work I wold have to do I am getting a feeling that this job might not be worth my time.
How much would you charge for this kind of plastisol job? Is it even worth taking the plastisol route instead of screenprinting? Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks
On a white tee with 2 color chest 2 color back and 2 color sleeve. i would be 6.99 a piece plus 120 in screens. that is for direct screen printing with plastisol inks on a gildan 5000.
Do you think it would be cheaper if my client opted for direct screenprinting?
Another option would be for you to outsource the printing to a contract screen printer. Depending on the pricing you get and what your costs/time would be, you might be able to still make a similar profit by outsourcing the work.
