Default 4 color Process are my price to high

Last night i got a call from one of my clients saying that i rip them off and that price was to high. He said he spoke to another shop in the area and they told him they could do it cheaper. SO i want to know if my price is to high for this job.

Job: 150 Shirt 5 different color and ranging from s to 2XL in sizes his logo had 25 different colors so i did a 4-color process he wanted the logo on front and back. the front logo was left chest little smaller then 4" X 6" the back logo was 13" x 13". I charge him 7.70 per shirt.

Is my price to high.

Probably not, but there is so much you aren't telling us it's hard to give you a simple yes or no answer.

What kind of shirts?
Where are you located?
What's your total cost to produce the order including labor, overhead, depreciation, etc.?

If your cost to produce the order is $2, then yeah, you are too high. But if it's $5 or $6, then no you are not.

Your price does not seem too high, it seems reasonable.

Is your press manual or automatic? this can come into play as an automatic is faster at producing and maybe that's how this other printer can offer to do the same job for less.

When i had my own print shop (manual press) i would often have clients say they could get a better price somewhere else only to have them come back later. Turns out this other print shop did a poor print job (off registration, too much bleeding ect..) and used cheaper quality garments.

It often seems that the client is not aware of the details and just see the dollar bottom line.

Good quality and service is important to many clients, especially with repeat business and that is often worth the higher price.
