Default 1000 t shirts for $4 each

what would you recommend for blank t shirts and transfer material?
I have heat press and versacamm vp540.

4"x4" logo front(2 color) and 12"X6" back graphic (3 colors) should apply.

will I get any profit??

or should I just outsource screen print people?

thanks

an order that size . . I would outsource and get at least a 75% deposit on the order . . JMO*~
$4.00 isn't a bad price --- personally . . I would bump it up a tad . . . your almost at a 50% profit . .
though the economy stinks right now . . everything around your is still going up in price . .

To Screen Print 1000 shirts front and back on an automatic machine your looking at 4 hours max. and the cost for printing would be ballpark about $1.50-$1.75 per shirt with a contract printer. I hope this helps you decide. John

something between vinyl and outsourcing is ordering plastisol transfers and heat pressing them yourself

Despite profit projections by some, a lot will depend on shirt color and shipping costs.

If you are asking should you take the job, my guess is you will barely break even.

You can't use vinyl, it would take you forever. Plastisol transfers are an option if you have the time to have them made for you. Cost will be comparable to contract screen printing.

Overall, your cost to produce, especially on a dark shirt, will approach if not exceed $4.

I need it on White T shirts.
I found guy who offer me $3.50 + $105 set up fee with hanes pre shrunk shirts.
Is this good deal?

If I ask my customer $4 a shirtthen I don't see any profit for me after shipping cost.

What are *your* costs to print that type of logo with your versacamm?

Add in your time, and the cost of the blanks, you're probably getting pretty close to $4

This is a good thread to read about making "costs" or "profits" Are you making cost or profit?

The best way to get pricing on your printing is to contact 2-3 different printers with the same job specs and ask them for quotes. That way you can see which quotes are competitive.

The forums aren't really intended to be a price comparison service for t-shirt printing.

More info in this thread here: I went to my local printer today and I want to know if this quote is right

At that many shirts outsource it if you don't sreen yourself.

Be sure to create the artwork, I am assuming because you have the VersaCamm you can do that...

This way when the customer comes back and wants 7 more shirts you can run those with your VersaCamm... Let the customer know they can do this and give them one shirt for free so they can see the finished prodcut... If the job is on a white shirt try the Solutions Clear or airtech products they have an awsome soft hand.

Let them know you can do one or two pc's on jackets or bags too ( VersaCamm let you do them all)

Do some window decals on sign vinyl with the same logo too, great add on sales!!!

Good luck

Just finished a similar job.
4.50 a shirt
1000 Gildan White shirts with 3 color logo left front chest. Barely paid for dinner. Did gain me a new customer that orders large quantities so in the end I got the deal. front and back I probably would have gone up another 75 cents per shirt. Customer thought the price was ok, was hoping for lower but liked the quality of the sample and paid cash up front.
