Hey I have jr high teacher who wants to do a funraiser for the school.. she will provide tshirts ,so the shirts will be kids size shirts, and she wants the shirt to say I love totem(totem is the name of the school, and love will be a heart shape same idea as the I love ny shirts with the hearts) the heart is red and the letters will be black.....I the vinyl cost 6 dollars per yard....so how much should I charge for the job of using vinyl cutter and heat press to apply vinyl to her shirts

i do $3.00 a press for vinyl.
so probably 6 per shirt, unless you want to throw in an extra dollar or two for the 2 color back

If it were me, I'ld get between 8 to 10 dollars depending on the volume. If your not making enough to pay yourself a decent wage, you giving your life away a small piece at a time. Get what your worth. If your gonna go broke, don't wear yourself out doing it. Good luck.

1-10 t-shirts $10 bucks.. 10-24 $8 bucks.. and that's because there kids shirts, if it were adults be more like $15 bucks per t-shirt.

I never use other customers garments. Sell them the whole package, shirt with transfers.

If you make a mistake (it will happen) and they supplied the shirt, then your in trouble. If you supply the shirt, you just make another. Sometimes things happen out of your control, a hole in a garment you never seen. Once the imprint is on it, nobody will let you return it.

If the customer insist, tell them you need 5-10% extra garments for mistakes.

Terry is right on target. You can be broke at home. Why work for next to nothing or less?
Know your costs and time and charge accordingly.

I usually try to convince my customers to use our stuff, but if they do use their own, they have to sign a waiver. I try to keep it light, and explain orally that it means, "If we mess up your shirt, we still keep your money, but feel really bad about it." The waiver covers everything in it, they sign a paper that basically says they can get back a shirt that says they LOVE my store and they must still pay for it and wear it proudly. I have never had any problems.

i usually charge 10-12 dollars per shirt for 1 color 1 side. You can charge the same for 2 colors 1 side kids size shirts. break down would be the following.

Black vinyl per design= 3.00
Red vinyl per design= 3.00
Weeding design = 1.00- 2.00
press per design = 1.00- 2.00

Remember to make it worth your while because your going to have to align the colors one at a time. so you have to set up the design once and press twice. (time consuming...time is money)
