Default Need help on calculating lettering for a tournament

I am doing long sleeve t-shirts for a wrestling tournament. I am pre-printing 100 shirts but doing name and where the player places (1st place, etc) on the sleeves at the tournament. I have never done on demand printing at a tournament before. So my questions are:

1. How do I begin to calculate how many individual letters I will need to do possibly all 100 shirts with players last names?

2. I have my own Roland cutter so I can pre-print the letters. Once again, I just don't know how many to print of each. I know I will need more vowels

3. Transfer express also sells letter packs. While I have used Transfer Express for transfers I have never used their peel, stick and press letters. Has anyone ever used these for a tournament and how do they work out.

Any answers will be appreciated.

Thank all!
Ann Marie

That seems like a hard way to do what you are doing.

How many total shirts will you need to provide one for everybody who placed?

I would take the results, go back to my shop to finish the shirts, and then mail them to the winners. This way you can do it on your cutter and not have to worry about aligning text.

I have done a few on site events years ago and we have always taken precut numbers and custom cut the letters on demand from a roll of film.

After they turn in the order form you produce and they come back to pick up the shirt in 30 minutes or so.

Be sure to have a template set up within your software and maybe pre-design the wrestlers names if you can get a list. then you could categorize alphabetically in a folder on your PC and cut to order.
