Default Need Help with Pricing

So I have someone who wants a price quote. He wants me to put his company name/logo on the back of 12 vests(size will be around 16 wide x5.5 tall) I will be doing this in vinyl and applying with my heat press. It is a 3 color logo. He is supplying the vests. What would should I charge for something like this? 2 of the vinyl colors I dont have in stock and will have to order to do the job. Any help would be great. If you need more info just ask. Thanks!

I would figure your product cost, the cost of your time, and then triple it. Remember, you're not making any profit on the garments.

Not been there yet but for three colors heatpressed vinyl I would be at least 12 bucks apiece and depending on the trouble, could go higher easily. Good luck.

You have to figure on being able to produce 4 of these prints per yard - so you will need 3 yards per color/layer. if a yard costs approximately $7, then you have $21 cost per color x 3 colors = $63 in material. If you wan to make 50% margin on the decoration you would need to sell it for double, so $126.

now your labor...

This job will probably take you 5-8 minutes per piece counting art time - so figure on 90 minutes in labor. If you are paying yourself $20 per hour, you will have $30 in labor.

$30 + $126 = $156 / 12 pieces = $13 per piece (so the $12 estimation was pretty good!)

Also be sure to make them sign off on a waiver that you are not responsible for their garment, basically that your liability does not exceed the cost of the decoration.
