Talking Is there money in heat pressing caps?

I'm just thinking about getting a cap press, but I mostly see embroidered hats anymore. Is a cap press worth the money, or has embroidery taken over the cap business?

Even though we sell cap presses I must say there is very little demand. There are extremely few stock designs that are available and you must use the foam front 'trucker' caps for printing. I'd spend my money on something else.

The hat press can be somewhat useful for doing small prints. I use mine for sleeve prints, such as numbers on sleeves or a name.
Standard plastisol heat press graphics, you'll never have a need.
You might use it if you have a CAD cutter so you can use heat press vinyl.

Ed,

I really appreciate your time and the speed with which you replied, thank you! I have purchased from proworldinc.com in the past, and I did notice that the selection of transfers for the caps was limited. Thanks again, and I'll be back to Proworld Inc. in the future.

Eric

Len,

Thanks for your input and your fast reply. I guess I'll hold on for awhile until I need to do sleeves. Thanks again!

I use thermoflex for them..also opaque heat transfers..not much demand tho it has almost paid for itself in almost a month.
I do signs and always offer to make tees and hats for their business. .. Tell em they look more professional..which is true.

I do my sleeves on my 16x20 press, using a small mousepad to keep the bottom seam from being a problem.

I can't say that I know a lot about the hat presses but from a business aspect, if you come up with something great GO FOR IT!!! The key is to be a genius at all times, sure things may be slow right now with that, but it's because the general public doesn't want what they see as far as that goes. How can you use it and what can you apply with it that will take off? It's good to ask questions like you are, but sometimes you have to go outside of the norm. We have to create our own opportunities, following what's already in place may not always be a good idea.
