Default Epson r1900 all black continous ink system

I have the Epson r1900 printer , which I print my films on....it has the blackmax all black ink carts...all the ink carts have just black ink in them......I have replaced the carts twice now..and this is getting very expensive, my question is can I buy a liter of black ink and use a syringe to refill the carts already in the printer.

If I can , will I need a chip resetter or can I refill the carts before they get to low ?

Thank You for any replies

I'm thinking that they will reset.
I use a resetter that I got off ebay for my regular printer.
For my R1800, I don't have the blackmax sys, but I do have refillable cartridges for dye ink.
These cartridges automatically reset themselves.
I get my ink from Oversizedfilm.com
their 'dye black ink'.
great black black opaque ink .
You should email them and ask if you can just refill your cartridges. They should know for sure.

Hi there,

Just wondering, could i buy an epson stylus r1900 and just but the black ink in it? or does it have to be the blackmax version of the printer?

Thanks

Chantelle

theres a set of ARC (auto reset chip) refillable cartridges on ebay for like 29 bucks for the 1900. That's what I bought and use along with a liter of black UV blocking dye ink (and a syringe).

I will add, ryonet has (had) a sale this month on that sheet film feeder. (129 bucks or something) I just added that and put about a 3/8 inch piece of weatherstripping across the whole bottome of the stock sheet feeder to fix the left side not always grabbing on feed... and put a wide piece of masking tape over it to make a ramp so that when you put a sheet in it gets past the weatherstripping... and, wala. I can load 8 sheets of 13x19 film and hit print and walk away and every sheet feeds in perfectly - completely unattended.

Can you tell me where you bought the liter of UV blocking dye ink? Also what rip software are you using? I have an r1900 already and i'm looking to do the same as you. Thanks.

INKJET: Printer Ink & Software Maybe? It was a while ago. Maybe ebay? You are just looking for a cheaper bulk version of the stuff they put in the blackmaxx cartriges.
