Default information on printing??

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum! Stumbled over it just recently..

Reason I found it was because I am searching for information on printing on 100% cotton.

What I'm looking for is a method that'll print lots of colours, photographs [used as designs on T-shirts] and hopefully a method that can print well on darker colours.

I would like the prints to be soft to touch [as if its in the cotton] and breathable, and something that won't fade fast..

If somebody knows a method that ticks most of these boxes, I would love to hear you opinion!!

Is DTG digital printing best??
and, is there different inks that DTG printers use that may reduce fading? [eg. water soluble (or whatever other kind of inks DTG printers use)]

Cheers any info's appreciated!

Adam, DTG is water based and in short runs for photograph that's what I suggest even on darks. John

Adam, Plastisol ink is what most t-shirts use and the hand or feel depends on how much ink is laid down. Water base is harder to print because the screens have to be kept wet or the ink dries in the screen but you don't feel the ink., Discharge is for 50/50 blends only and the feel is the same as water base.
