i washed my 100% cotton Hanes heavy dut white t-shirt once and theres so much lint over my design. This happened with speedball as well and i heard permaset aqua was a pretty good brand. I gave it enough time to air dry and i heat set it with my iron then waited 1-2 days to wash it. Is the 100% cotton white tee the problem? If so, what would be a good % for other white t's, like cotton + polyester. thanks in advanced =]
Permaset is not suppose to be hand ironed. You should be using a commercial means to cure their ink; conveyor dryer, flash dryer, or heat gun. Hand ironing traps moisture.
Also, when you are laying down ink, do 2 or 3 strokes, not just one.
Finally, if the problem persists, use their supercover line which has a much higher pigment concentration.
just thot id say ive been ironing permaset inks for months and months, with no probs at all, no deterioration,,,,,or cracking of any kind even aftr stretching or many washes,,,,,,,,,, a few times ive seen this dont iron permaset comment,,,,,,,,not strictly true
There are relative degrees of washfastness. Technically, you can simply let Permaset air dry and it will last for a while, fading gradually over time. An iron is better, but still not as permanent as using professional curing equipment like a flash or conveyor dryer.

hi mate,,, what dyou rekn time frame wise then, i can date one of the very 1st tees i made myself to 2002...its a sky blue gildan,,, i actually hand brushed sure it was black permaset over a stencil i cut out,,,,,,to this day i wear this shirt and is washed often as i wear it for d.i.y and gardening,,the shirt is knackered, but in all honesty the black permaset still looks as good it did then,,, and its been washed hundreds of time over the years,,, i rekn thus proving that ironing can be just as good as any heat press, you just need to take a bit more time in doing it,,,,,i use a press now tho thankfully
I use Permaset Aqua, albeit mostly super cover. and I cure with a heat press, never had any complaints of poor shirts... yet. What's this lint problem look like, can you provide us with some pics? Also you should be fine for 100% cotton shirts, perhaps you aren't curing long enough? Or hot enough?
