Default Need to upgrade my waterbased inks

I need to upgrade my hobby speedball inks. I don't do a ton of prints, but need something nice since I actually now have some small wholesale accounts (YAY!) I was going to go with Versatex, but then read some people on the forum didn't like it? What about that Matsui (?) brand? Some brands only come in larger quantities too right? I only work out of my house and the largest order I did was for 30 shirts, so I don't need a ton at a time. Anyway, I need advice on which waterbased ink and where I should go to get the best price for my next ink?

Thanks!
Vickie

Matsui and Permaset are two commercial options. Both are excellent inks. Permaset has more colors out the can, matsui has an ink mixing system where you can make basically any color you want.

permaset tends to be more expensive than matsui.

There are a lot of posts here on both inks.

Thanks.
Where's the best place to buy each of these so I can compare prices?

Westix and Ryonet for Matsui. Armadillo Art Supply or **** Blick for Permaset are but a few sources.

I hope I'm not being dense -- I looked at the Matsui and am confused. Do I need to mix those? It says: Ryonet's EnviroLine 301 PC Pigment Dye Inks is great when mixed into our DSPS Water Based Discharge Ink or when used as a color boost to the RC water based inks.

Thank you!
I'm getting a little depressed now though because I don't need a pint or a gallon and I don't want to stay with speedball. It's going to cost me (what I consider) a fortune to get just a few colors. Isn't there anywhere that sells smaller quantities?

Permaset does. Masui is for serious high volume work. I am surprised they have small sizes. I assume for mixing.

One oher thing. These inks are no suitable for ironing. you really need a commercial drying solution.

Thanks for the heads up -- I use a heat gun to heat set right now. Will that be ok?

Ok, I think I have one last question (if you knew me for real, you'd think that was funny). There's a paste you can buy for permaset, but I"m not sure what it's for. Do you know? This is the description:
Permaset Aqua Print Paste — Use Permaset Aqua Print Paste as an additive for extending Permaset colors. It is a useful addition to the Permaset Aqua Fabric ink line. 300 ml jar or 1 Liter tub.

THANKS!!

Vickie

Print paste is added to make your ionk color more transparent.
