Discuss the different plastisol screen printing inks and curing methods on the market. Share tips on getting the best results with the different ink manufacturers.
Just recently started multiple sceen printing for a job, but I am finding the screen is drying too fast using water based inks, my supplier is winding down on the use of plastisol inks so I must diversify. Is there a trick to stop the screen drying, would a spray of a fine water mist help or would it promote bleeding of the design.
If you still want to use plastisol, find another supplier.
Are you flooding the screen between prints? You need a lot more waterbased ink on the screen than plastisol. The more ink, the longer it takes to dry out.
What type of WB ink is it? Many companies offer a additive that you mix with the ink to help it from drying out in the screen. A fine mist every so often will help a bit as well.
