Default acrylic ink selection

Hi guys,

I'm a nub at this and still learning. I fear all the different types and brands of ink out there and currently use speedball fabric inks. However, i have to order these over the internet and have found another ink: Discount Art Materials from Chromos Art Supplies, Craft Materials, Canvas, Brushes, Watercolour, Acrylic Paint, Oil Paint
which is sold in a shop close to me and is cheaper. with these inks was this stuff: Acrylic Mediums & Primers - Daler Rowney System 3 Acrylic Screen Printing Medium - ArtiFolk Art & Craft Supplies

Now, 3 questions:

1 - is this system 3 inkgoing to do the same job? same quality? cures the same way?

2 - do i NEED to use that printing medium or is that just an optional thing? is it recommended?

3 - In future when i look for inks for t-shirt printing, what exactly do i look for? if it says acrylic ink is that it? or is there more that makes it suitable for screen printing onto t-shirts?

Thank you very much for your wisdom

That's a graphic ink (i.e. for paper, wood, etc.). It's not intended for textiles - it's not washfast. If you're printing on t-shirts do not use acrylic.

You can also get textile printing base, to which you add pigment (not acrylic paint).

If you're using bases you need to make sure you don't mix them up.

Wash it and find out. Some stains wash out rapidly, some don't. It's likely to fade substantially, then remain as a faded image for quite some time.

Definitely unsaleable, but if you've already printed it for personal use then there's not much you can do about it.
