Default water-based cracking

I am a newbie printer, using water-based. My first print looks fine, but after the first wash the ink is "cracking" in places, and even flaking away from the fabric.
What is this most likely to be a problem of:
Quality of the ink?
Curing? (i cured by ironing, but have i feeling i did not give it long enough)
The nature of WB inks: would i get this problem less with plastisol?

Where the ink is flaking, it looks like it hasn't adhered properly or "penetrated" the fabric. If it was a problem of inadequate curing, is it worth trying to iron it again, even though its been worn and washed a couple of times now?

Default Re: water-based cracking

I would say it is a curing problem.
