Where to buy PVC & Phthalate Free plastisol screen printing inks?
I need to print on shirts using Plastisol Ink. They say PVC & Phthalate Free is better to use than the regular plastisol inks. Can anyone recommend a brand name please? a better quality and a reasonable price would be great. thnx!
re: Where to buy PVC & Phthalate Free plastisol screen printing inks?
Technically, what makes a plastisol ink is a mixture of PVC resin and phthalate plasticizer. So remove these two components and it's no longer considered plastisol.
Waterbased inks are PVC and phthalate free. Plastisol Inks for Textile Screen Printing - LancerGroup.com also has a PVC/phthalate free ink which, although not apparently waterbased, is also not technically platisol. Although it has the same characteristics as plastisol.

New laws took affect in 2009 lowering the phthalate and lead levels of inks. Phthalate actually is a great plasticizer but laws dictate you now must use "phthalate free" or "phthalate compliant" ink.
Most major manufacturers will have phthalate free plastisols. As stated above, waterbased inks are naturally phthalate free.
Check out International Coatings, Wilflex, Rutland, QCM. They all should have phthalate free inks.

Good morning! I am also in the market for PVC free & Phthalate-free inks. is lancer and union/liberty the only ones out there that have it? I work at a high volume print shop and if we switch over 100% we would be going through a lot of inks. Do these companies provide ink dispencing machines?

Lancer, Union, Wilflex, Rutland, and One Stoke Inks all carry PVC & Phthalate free ink. My experience with them wasn't very good, but just phthalate free inks work great for me. Btw, this is a very old post.
