At my shop we use a few inks... rutland, tri-ink, and wilfex. I like rutland the best. It's all up to personal preference. I am not sure which one is cheaper though. I would call a supplier (we go through Martin Screen Print supply), make an account, and then ask for some samples. They are usually free and that will give you a chance to try a variety out before you buy them. I hope this helps.

I use wilflex and union for their specialty inks and rutland for basic plastisols, all three are great quality, its really a preference thing. You can find practically anything now a days, phthalate free. Union is definitely a little pricier.

For peoples starting in sceenprinting, I would recommand Union unimatch or Mixo. Easy system to color match, after 15 years using these inks, I'm still using them and still having excellent quality prints after prints.

International coating ink is also a good ink system and if you're using it with no problems I would suggest not making changes. This is what I'ved done and having no problems with Union inks for so long.
