Default Problems with applying heat transfers on white garments

I seem to be getting a lot of underlying fluff, loose bits of cotton, or sometimes strands of cotton that i can't actually see prior to applying the transfer paper (Jet Soft Pro). However, once applied because it leaves a solid print, underlying and loose fluff can be seen very clearly especially under certain colours, and because the heat transfer is applied over this it conceals these bits and they can't be removed!

It's annoying because i have wasted numerious shirts and i can't sell some as i know customers might want to pick at the bits they see and thus ruin the actual transfer!

Sorry for the loose terminologies but trying to describe as best as possible! I think most of you will understand...

So whats the best method of removing this! I don't seem to get this problem on grey or other light coloured shirts, but only the t shirt so it might be the make of t shirt being used, but i'm quite happy with the t shirt so don't want to switch to another t-shirt!

any ideas please?
