I don't know about the EcoFilm but with ThermoFlex Plus you can layer colors. I am sure this is probably true for your brand.

All you do is apply the first layer(background) as normal..if it is cold peel, let it cool, peel, then set up for the second layer.

In your case, if you only have one color this would still apply. You can press part of it, cold peel(or hot peel)...then position the other vinyl and press again.

It shouldn't affect the vinyl on there already. I mean it will heat it up, but once it cools, you can peel and it will ALL stay there on the shirt.

I have been wanting to try some of that EcoFilm..come on Imprintables, make a believer out of me..hehe
