Yep $60-100 would be more like it. I usually calculate of material first then add in design and production fee(shop cost). My overhead is calculated into my per hour rate shop cost, so I pro-rate the hour if it isn't a full hour for design but I have a minimum of $20 because it takes that long to set up and get into the "design Mode" and then the production cost is added in there as well. So if it takes me .5 hours to design that's $30 dollars.
If you don't have quickbooks, or Estimate or something like that I would recommend getting either or both. You can set them up to do estimates and see quickly what you need to charge. |
