Default Re: what is a importing bond even for??

Hi Cody,

Anyone who imports goods into the US must have an import bond, unless the value of goods is under $250 USD.

There are 2 types of import bonds, (1) Continuous Annual Bond (2) Single Transaction Bond.

A single transaction bond averages $65 and is good for 1 import transaction.

A continuous bond is good for all imports for a full year. The average cost is $500-$600.

For obvious reasons, if you plan to import more than 10 times a year, the continuous bond is the way to go.

For more information regarding importing and exporting, please feel free to contact me.

FYI I own an operate an international freight forwarding company, IFEGLOBAL.com.

Good Luck
