Re: Going to do my 1st Application This is what ive found that works for me when doing long applications (where the vinyl is much wider than my arm span is) Say for the piece that is 76 inchs long, I would cut that piece on my plotter with a weed border all in one section.. then would mark the center on that with my stabillo pencil... I would mark the window with the stabillo with the line being where my weed border is (as this is a straight line) and mark the where the middle of the graphic goes on the window.. .. I then cut the vinyl im gonna lay into say 3 sections.. with my scissors.. .. I lay the middle section first.. on the line.. then i take the pieces that i have cut from the vinyl and lay each side.. butting the place i cut with the scissors up to each other and placing that on the line ive made on the window.. then lay the other side the same way..
since i have a cut line ive made in the transfer tape if i but them up to each other the vinyl is straight.. and its much eaiser to handle pieces that are say 35 inchs long rather than 75 inchs long..
as long as im careful about lining the edges up and the bottom line with the line ive drawn.. there is never any problems..
Hope this makes sense.. Its one of those things that easier to do than to describe.. |
