Thankfully my registrar doesn't practice that sort of business. I can search for domains and buy them when I want to, whether it's right then, a day later, or a week later.
I woudn't doubt that GoDaddy is doing this, too. Somehow I got an email about a domain that I had on backorder with them. As soon as it became "free" it was snatched up again and I got an email that I could buy it for $200. I'm now thinking that GoDaddy might have bought it themselves and sent me that letter under another name.
This practice should be illegal!
