I'm a very small business with a tax id/license, and I deal with a combination of suppliers. Some require tax id and others don't. You'll most always get the best price when you have your tax id number when dealing with suppliers, but even then some of the other sites like shirtsupplier.com will give you a better price and bigger selection of color/size than what you can find at Walmart/etc. The sites that require tax id numbers are not going to provide you with their price list until you have the proper license. One of my suppliers, TSCapparel.com provides the capability for anyone to look at their products, but only their customers with authorization (id/password) can find out the price. I often direct some of my customers to look at their site and tell me which items they interest in purchasing and then I tell them the price I'll charge them. |
