We were there on Saturday and ran into Rodney at the Vapor booth. Sorry we had to miss dinner but we had too much on our plate this weekend. We'll definitely have to catch up at the ISS in Jan!
Some thoughts --
Yes, the show is much, much smaller than the ISS. I wasn't really surprised. There was considerable overlap in what was being shown except that at this one there was one or maybe two companies in each category where at the ISS there are several. I don't see this as a bad thing. I was completely overwhelmed at the ISS. It was my first show and I was new to the industry. I didn't know what to look at or who to talk to! At this one, I was able to talk to the reps more. There wasn't a huge crowd and nobody was in a hurry. It was nice!
Why on earth would Rodney need a booth? Am I missing something?
The Convention Center needs to hire better people to manage the registration. Those guys were YELLING at us to go inside to register. Every single person I saw was looking around bewildered with their confirmation form in their hand.
[RANT]They had *already* registered doofus. They just needed to check in so that the machine could print their badges. That's ALL YOU HAD TO SAY! [/RANT.
In case you don't have an engraver, I just posted my experiences with
rhinestone transfers on the heat press forum.
