Re: Long beach show.. after thoughts and samples.. I found the show useful...and I bought a couple items..Roland GX24 and an Epson 1400 w/ bulk system of artanium inks.. I think I got a good deal..if I didn't...don't tell me It is too late to cry!
Like Susan I found the Roland engraver a fascinating piece of equipment. I was salivating for it after watching..thinking of the custom rhinestone designs one can do. what the Roland guy..very nice, friendly and informative ...did not inform you about was that the engraver for $4995 is not your only choice. They have one that is 2995 that will do the same but just on nothing larger than 12 x9 I think and also does not have a cover over it...for 2 grand I would opt for the 2995..
Now for my tale of woe. I really wanted to meet up with some from the forum. I got to Long Beach after one on Friday..so I bummed around..looked enjoyed and then trotted over to Jakes...only to find it closed!..later learned it was something about a health code issue. Not to worry I said...I will just meet up at 5 on saturday...that was not to be...The cutter I bought was a demo..and there was a hectic time in getting the vendors packing boxes back to them so I would have the box AND software..fussed and fummed and did get the unit out the door until 5:45. Then I had an associate guard the box at the taxi stand in front..got the car, hopped out loaded the truck..accidently hit the lock button on the door and locked it with the keys in the ignition...fussed and fumed.. hit the panic button..was about to call AAA when I remember my car..Linc town car..has buttons on the door...finally remembered the correct code after racking my brain for 5 min. with taxi drivers getting irate...so at 6 decided to go to yard house anyway..but gave up trying to find parking so...just crawled off the the hotel to lick my wounds with a bottle of good wine!
Had good time anyway and hope I can get my hands and mind around operating the cutter...watch out for lots of questions. |
