 Iron all on colored tshirts, sample prints
I went ahead and printed on several cotton fabric samples. The colors of the fabric were red, black, grey, yellow, blue, purple.
The fabric is 95% cotton 5% spandex, ribbed tshirt type material. (cheaper than buying tshirts to test with)
The colors tested were red, yellow, blue, green, black.
The paper is Ironall, untrimmed to show the affect of the carrier on the fabric.
The samples on the right are washed, cold water, no detergent and dried for 20 minutes on perm press setting.
The yellow garment held up the best and the darker fabrics showed the carrier where nothing was printed the most.
Special notes on the fabric.
Red - as mentioned in another post red turns very dark when heated, almost black. It returns to its normal color as it cools
Grey - The carrier shows up quite a bit on the grey but goes mostly away as it cools. After washing you can barely see it.
Yellow - Yellow did the best overall not showing the carrier or having any noticeable problems. This even shows up better than on white material. While I can still pick out the carrier on whites, I cannot on the yellow.
All other colors show the carrier pretty well even after washing.
Overall the prints come out pretty good on the ribbed material. I would say if you trimmed the paper real close on the darker materials you would be fine with this paper as has already been mentioned.
