Hi. I'm so new to printing to sell, but I have printed my own t-shirts before for personal use and gifts. The thing is I used an inkjet printer and t-shirt transfer paper..Just the stuff you buy at craft stores. I also just ironed the on by hand. I can usually do that pretty well. I take my time and it comes out good. The thing is when printing them to sell I know I have to bump up the quality. But I do have to start out slow due to budget limitations.
I know I need to use better inks. I have had fading problems before. I have heard of archival inks and sublimations dyes, heat transfer inks. I'm just not sure what to use and where to get them. Also if they can be used with my printer. I just got an HP deskjet 9800 wide format printer. I have done searches on archival inks and mostly Epson is the only one that comes up. The heat transfer inks too. can't I use a longer lasting ink with the HP ?

Also I wanted to know about paper. I just want to print on white shirts right now. And im still using the iron, for now. Is there a good general paper I can use to get a good quality long lasting print ?
Any help appreciated.
