Default How much should I charge for my shirts?

Im going to my first event this weekend and I have been wondering what should i charge for my t-shirts? My shirts retail in stores for $40 but my event demographics will be 60% if not more college students. I have a couple hundred shirts and there suppose to around 50k people for this two event. Im thinking about lowering my prices to $25 and $30 to get them off.. but i was wondering if someone could help me with my pricing issue and give me some advice from there first event experience.

College kids are use to paying $10-$20 for their tees, so even $25-$30 will be a stretch.

Will any other tee companies be at the event? If so, what will they be selling their tees for?

What's so special about your tees that they sell for $40? Any way to convey those differences to the shoppers who will be there?

I don't quite agree with this. I'd say, that the average college student, pays $20 minimum.

If you're already rocking your shirts out at 40$ a piece I'm sure you have some students already buying at that price?
I'd mark them as sale and do $24-29 a piece. Once you drop below $20, especially for 'high end' shirts I think people will start to think the product is low quality.

my 2cents.

The real question is is the event directed towards your demographic? If so maybe run event specials but I wouldn't just go to a random large event to try to sell.
