Im vending at a concert that should generate 25,000 people a day and it goes on for two days. But this is my first event and really dont know what to expect. Im thinking about attending the event with 500-1000 t-shirts with my hot designs that been selling in the store and just make it available in different colors and smaller sizes for the females. Can anyone give me some good tips and pointers for my first event and does that sound like a good # of shirts or should i get more or less?
Wow..That's lots of people! I do vending, but the the biggest key is where they have you set-up! (My favorite place is near the Ladies Room.. they are the shoppers!) I don't want to tell you to buy more shirts. I am conservative. Especially if a concert promoter is selling apparel also. You also need to know how many other vendors are going to be there, and exactly what they will be selling. Hopefully you are set up to take credit and debit cards. Very important for impulsive sales! If you have a cutter, take it with you. If there are others selling apparel, you can set yourself apart by personalizing the shirts. Good luck. Please report back so we know how you did!
I too am going throught the same worries. I have an event coming up next month and have some of the same questions you do. I have done festivals on a smaller scale but nothing like what I'm about to do next month. If your event is before mine, please let us know how you did. Good Luck!
We're doing our 1st event Friday. Have the booth all set, product ready but don't know how much to take. Event (marathon) has 23,000 participants but this is the day before registration and pasta feed event. Looks like we're the only t-shirt vendor. Let you know how it goes.
Did an event my first on may 2 made some mistakes but all and all had a good time. estimate abouit 10k in attendance. and 400 peices sold. I also want to thanks ryonet and advancedtshirt.com for all of the help and support I received from both companies. These are two that truly want to see this industry advance and mover into the next generation of screen printers. Tom from simple seps advancedtshirts.com, Ryan from ryonet, and Mike from tshirtclipart.com. You guys ROCK could not have done it without you. These are three companies I will continue to deal with
I've never done an event before but I think it would be really cool and I hope I can soon. I have been doing lots of reading about them here in the forums and I have talked to other tshirt line owners that I know. I have learned a lot but I know I'll still never be 100% ready until I try it out for the first time.
Your talking about approx 6-12 cases of shirts assuming 72 per case. That's right in the range of what we take for a 3 day event. At 500 you will probably find your self running out of key sizes and at 1000 you'll probably be bringing some home. We also have an online store so some overstock wasn't an issue for us.
