Re: is it still worth it to hit a trade show if your a new line? We attended the home and gift show in atlanta. Booth cost was about $2800 I think... We got just enough orders/purchases to cover our booth, but we learned A LOT!! It was ABSOLUTELY worth it for the education we got speaking with other vendors, retailers and suppliers. We're supposed to go back in January. We're taking all the feedback we got and are using it to develop our line for January. I feel like I have too much to do and not enough time to do it.
I guess it depends on what you feel makes it worth it. I heard that you should attend first and look around and check it out so that you are prepared and know what you're getting into. I didn't get the grilling from retailers that I expected as far as where our line is selling, etc. etc. I don't know why, but it was actually pretty easy. I would have liked more sales, but it was a good start.
If you are tight on cash, it might not be the best place to go. We went bc ours is local, too. I could not afford to travel to Dallas, NYC, LA right now... Atlanta was right down the road and is thankfully a big market. It was slow, but it was good for us...
