The problem with most solutions is you still need an internet connection if you want to get an authorization or decline immediately. If you don't, you risk losing money as well as your merchandise.
I have a merchant account I got through merchantanywhere.com along with a Palm Treo and a data connection from Verizon. It's not cheap but I figure if it saves me 1-2 sales a month, it paid for itself. It also gives me the ability to process credit cards pretty much anywhere.
You could also get a wireless internet card from any of the major cell carriers and use a merchant account via the web on a laptop. Lots of options, you just have to find the one that works for you... |
