It wouldn't be necessary, but you might get something out of it.
Basically the advantage of going would be education: you could see some of the equipment used in the decoration of garments, etc. and get a better idea of how the process works.
To my mind, the biggest advantage would be that you could check out a bunch of blank clothing companies, and learn some more about fabric types, different options available in the market, etc. It might expose you to brands you're unfamiliar with, that you might encounter startup labels using in future (though most will just use AA anyway).
At ISS Long Beach I saw the new AA 7oz shirt without having to bother ordering a sample. Things like that would presumably be of interest to you also.
You might get a blog post or two out of it, but I wouldn't count on it being that directly useful.
If it's local, you have nothing pressing on, and you can get down there without costing yourself money - I'd definitely recommend registering and swinging by. If it's boring you, leave. But if it would cost you money to attend... if you have no interest in being on the business side of things, I don't think it'd be worth it.
I've been to a few trade shows that were only
just related to what I do mostly just out of curiosity (furniture, architecture, etc.). That kind of thing is normally worth at least an hour or two of your time just to expose yourself to something you don't see every day of your life.
