Default Searching for boutiques

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask how you go about searching for boutiques that are in other cities. I am focusing on boutiques in major U.S cities. I am googling them, but I was wondering if there might be a better way of searching for them. Perhaps some online database with description/phone numbers of various boutiques throughout the nation?

Thanks in advance,

Alban

Here's what I do:
You can usually find the "trendy" shopping districts through google or even word of mouth. Usually there is a website dedicated to that district or neighborhood or street or strip or whatever and the retailers are often browsable by category, products/services offered, etc. For example Columbus, OH is known for the Short North District. I googled and found shortnorth.org and it has a nice shopping chart with addresses, phone #s, products, etc - turned out to be a great starting point.

I am wondering if anyone know of any specific MySpace groups that many boutiques are in?

Find other clothing lines that are your closest competitors & ones that your line would compliment, then go to their websites to find which retailers and stockists carry their products. Contact those boutiques because you know those places are more likely to be interested in your line.
