Re: Paperwork for First Wholesale Client!! Unsure what others recommend, but here's what I'd bring:
Sales order book (in case they want to place an immediate order)
Notebook (to jot down what they would want/need in the future)
An actual sample of your work (finished t-shirt)
Portfolio of other work
Dress appropriately depending on that company's culture, don't want to make a bad first impression. If they seem to be laid back/casual, then I'd say go in one of your products, otherwise dress nicely. We're in Summer now, so it's definitely the time to be wearing t-shirts. If you can, make a point of quick delivery so that they can move the product before the seasons change. Don't promise anything you can't deliver though, and always make sure you give yourself leeway on any kind of deadlines. Also be sure to work out a pricing structure, a good business will try to barter down using a variety of methods from flat out "That's too much, I'm willing to pay XXX" to "If I purchase 500, what kind of deal will you give me", etc. Make sure you know your absolute bottom line to where you can still make money, so that you don't negotiate below it. |
