I'm just wondering if anyone is going to ISS New England in July. We'll have a booth there, but I think this is the first year for this show. I'm wondering how much attendance it will get.

I believe it is at least the 2nd year, possibly more. When we registered for the Chicago show, the rep wanted us to register for the New England show as well. The time frame didn't work for us, so we didn't. But, he said that attendance was about either 2,000 or 2,500 (can't remember exactly) and that many of the buyers from last year are returning this year, which is a good sign. He also said that a very high percentage of the people attending purchased.
I attended last year and while some I know said it was small, I found it just right and jam full of all sorts of vendors. Any more and I probably would've gotten lost in my own mind about who was what and such. I'm attending again this year and like last year will probably purchase because some vendors offer show discounts, and it's also nice to talk face to face with the people you're buying from sometimes. Having a face to go with the name of my reps I deal with can make a lot of difference with who I continue to deal with. Maybe that's just me....I don't know.
Anyhow, I look forward to checking out your booths.
P.S.
Free samples go a long way on convincing me to buy as well.

I'll be there. It is a pretty smalll show as far as shows go but I still found it interesting last year. I missed the one in AC accidentally. I got the dates wrong so Rhode Island will have to do.
Well, I have to say that show was an uber success for my business. I met a lot of great contacts and got a lot of new ideas in order to expand the services I offer. I spent a little over $1600 on new stuff. I can't wait til it ships to me....haha, it's like getting a new toy, but even better cuz these new toys will help me make money. I went all three days and vendors started saying to me, "You again?, You're back!", and things of the like. I'm gonna take full advantage of having all my vendors in one place. 1st day I go around, grab the reading material and samples and such. 2nd day I go back to the ones I have questions for and clear up exactly what they're offering...especially those trying to get me to buy something right then and there. The 3rd day is when I purchase, because usually that's when they're willing to do some dealing. I got $1000 worth of free stuff because I can haggle and they really want to sell me something. Granted, that's the most I've ever saved, but if you don't ask for a deal, you end up paying the "sucker" or show price.
All in all, I really hope they continue the New England show. How'd everyone else make out?
