Smile When to send Line Sheets: Seasonal

Hi Everyone,

I've created my t-shirt line, it's online, now I'd like to focus on selling to boutiques. Over the weekend I created a line sheet and titled it for "Spring/Summer".

I got a response from a local Chicago boutique that they are already receiving items for winter.

My question is this. When dealing with small, indie boutiques, not monster stores like Nordstrom’s or Macy's, when should I send each seasonal line sheet.

It is now close to July, should I be sending out the winter line sheet?

If anyone has an average time table schedule, please let me know.

Thanks

Bryan

Most buyers usually start looking/buying 6 months in advance. An August trade show is selling stuff for delivery in Jan/Feb for Spring. Of course, you don't have to start showing that early, but the earlier the better - you don't want to be told that they already bought everything they need for the season. Especially boutique shops that work on a budget, once they are done, generally that's it and you have to wait for the next buying season. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule.

Thanks Onesie Lady,

You said it right there, "you don't want to be told that they already bought everything they need for the season." That's what I was told 3 times yesterday! This buying schedule is so confusing, but thanks for helping clear it up.
