Default First Collection Size

I am based in Europe, and have started a small T shirt website. We have been online for about 5 months now and we want to expand into some smaller retail shops. We are about to employ a rep that will 'test' the market for us with sales at 10 shops. He thinks we need a collection of about 30 designs, but I think that makes things a little too complicated from the 'back end' point of view - we don't really have an advanced inventory system and I want to keep it as simple as possible, and that means for me maybe 10 designs in total. I'm not sure though if this is enought to really build up the brand image?!

i have asked this question of reps in the past and been told minimum of 6 would be acceptable to get started, so i'd say 10 should be just fine. i'll watch your thread as i'd like confirmation on that, as well. good luck to you!

I would also take into effect the type of printing you are doing. If you are doing screen printing then 10 would be acceptable as you do not want to invest in too much inventory that you may not be able to sell. But for retail I would think 10 designs would be a decent choice for the retailers to get an idea of what kind of work you do

You might think about getting a new rep. 30 is a lot of designs for your first run. Trust your instincts!
