Discuss the process of getting your t-shirt line into brick and mortar stores and selling offline. Topics include industry tradeshows, events, line sheets, sales reps and other retailing tips and advice.
Day 1 was great at the GGG seminar in Raleigh today! It was informative, fun, open and the trainer engaged the attendees which is a big plus to me. I like being engaged in class so that I won't get bored.
The attendees got to use the presses to apply various transfers on tees provided in a goodie bag.
We learned about the industry, what tools are needed to operate this type of business, learned about marketing, pricing, learned about various press types, accessories and saw the various transfers available that are offered by Stahls' & Imprintables Warehouse. Also, the trainer logged into the Transfer Express site to show how to order Digi Prints and Easy Prints Plus products. There were a rack full of tees where many were passed around to see the various transfers on them.
Oh, one other tidbit - There is a Roland GX24 cutter and a Roland VersaCAMM VP-300 there that we'll get to see in action on tomorrow (yaaay!). However, the trainer printed a transfer from a Canon inkjet printer and cut on the GX24 today.
Tomorrow is considered the complete hands-on day even though we got to jump right in today. Attendees had advice and tips they shared with others, which can be priceless.

This is definitely one seminar to attend, IMO.

Darn, I wish I had heard about it sooner, I'm only about an hour and a half from Raleigh. Where are you?
How many people are in each class? Do you pick what classes you take from a list or is it a bunch of mini classes that everyone takes together?

I'm in the Triad Tim, so I drove in both days about 1 hour and 35 mins, 1 way, to Raleigh. A few people stayed at the hotel as they traveled a longer distance.
You're about 45 mins from the Triad, so just a tad bit longer stretch for you. However, I say it's worth it if you have interests in these areas of the industry and want to learn about how Stahls' and Imprintables can help you with ordering/using these products. Plus, you get to network with others in the business.
Actually, it's not a "structured" class with textbook and lessons at all. It's an educational seminar by Mel Meibers. You simply sign up for one or both days of it to learn about Heat Transfer printing and CAD cutting.
There was room for more, but if I had to guess, approx 30 people came on both days. Some people came only the 1st or 2nd day.
If you're up to a drive to Charlotte, the GGG Seminar will be held again in about 4 weeks, on April 14th and 15th.
Read the details here and sign up online if you'd like to go. I forgot to mention there were a lot of good tips for the Roland Cut Studio and CorelDraw X3 users. And...some info on some new products were shared!!! Good stuff.
Pics coming tomorrow.

Pictures, as promised. A few are low(er) quality so as not to use all of my forum space for pics.
You'll have to go to a GGG seminar to see all of the other good stuff, test the equipment, get samples and make product purchases at the "seminar" pricing.

u did good thanks a lot for sharing.
this makes a big difference in just telling people. now they can truly get the big picture.
What was the project board used for with all of the little t's on it?
No. The board with the little tees showcased the various materials that Stahls' ID and Imprintables sells for apparel. These were not the promo tees that we printed on but something that mocked a promo tee.
It showcased products including Fashion Film, Thermo-Flex, Thermo-Flock, Glitter, Solutions, Eco-Film, Foils and others.
That is actually a great way to show customers the various materials you can offer without bringing out full sized tees. Use promo tees...much easier to tote around as well.
I appreciate that! I know the pics are "amateur" but I was hoping they gave some insight to those who may think this is not a worthwhile seminar.
Now you've twisted my arm to show you a few items up close that we created there. See the additional pics.
