It was also great to touch and feel the products of t-shirt manufacturers whose products I've only seen on-line.
That's actually one of my favorite things of the tradeshows. Instead of having to buy samples of every new product and style, you can actually see and touch the fabric, check out the color range. Only thing you can't do is try it on
Re: Please post your feedback and opinions of the ISS Long Beach show
yes we made it to the show on sat, met lou and susan and i think it was debz sitting with lou but eeek i forget, sorry. there was so many interesting things to look at. first show for me, loved it. mostly looked at plastisol transfers, went over to stahls and watched the little training video on how to cut .....geez i'm having a moment here...haha oh yes twill!!! i am only doing vinyl at the moment and adding plastisol will be a great addition. ohhhhh that lou, he's full of good info, it was so much fun meeting up with the badalou!
as our shop does signs too think we will go up to the Sign Show in july.. yup think so.
now.. what to do with all these samples and books, ok go to go clean a spot to put them in for handy access.
very impressive show. c
cheers
maureen

Hiya Cathy ... yeppers, I had Debz stop by, specifically. I've said it before, and I'll say it again ... there simply isn't enough ready-to-go artwork out there for us garment printers. I was really excited to see y'all expand beyond embroidery. For me, personally, some of the art I like, some just isn't what I am seeking.
Too many of the art providers, focus on basic art (to customize for themselves or clients ... which is fine, but not what I am looking for), or the whole sports mascot stuff (wayyy too much of that)... great for that local niche with custom/contract printing, but doesn't cover what I am really looking for ... funny, trendy, gritty designs in a variety of themes that can be slapped down on a tee, as many of the current heat transfer providers are selling (not talking about licensed material). It just isn't fair that all the really cool stuff has to come from a heat transfer ... most of that art belongs with a softer hand on fabric.
My focus for the show were:
1. Digital Art
2. Direct-to-Garment demos
3. Advancements in the up and coming industries
4. New fabrics, colors, styles (focus on Bamboo)
The problem I had with many of the exhibitors (at least, with what could be brought home to me), were over-simplified one or two page brochures. I need to be blown away. Kavio's presentation package blew me away ... by far, of any of the exhibitors. Hanes with guy playing folk guitar, and US Screen with the T-Jet thong party hats (thanks, Mike ... pics to come) for putting some flare and fun into the event.
This opinion isn't intended to be directed at any single exhibitor, just my own observation as an attendee (a second hand one, at that) providing feedback. I hope it will help companies, as they plan upcoming events.

Hi Michael,
It was great meeting Deb and thanks so much for the feedback. We're making more and more edgier designs every day, so check back on our website at least every couple of weeks. If you have any ideas or someone you really want to see us do, please do not hesitate to pass it along!

LOL ... yeah, Debz made me go back to your site to check out more catagories. The misc section is what got me to look at more (the children's art is the most complete and impressive) ... the western stuff is nice. Thanks, Cathy, I will drop ya line!

We attended the Show on Saturday and had a great time. We were impressed with some of the DTG equipment being presented. My business partner (Wife) is sold on the Bling. She loves the rhinestone applications. We are going to do a lot with rhinestones this year. I did not get to meet anyone and am I am little dissappointed with that. I was wearing my T-shirt forum Pin proudly.

Direct to Garment printers are a relatively new breed of machine that uses a modified inkjet printer to print directly onto the t-shirt. You load the t-shirt into the printer and the print heads will print the design from your computer, onto the t-shirt. Re: Please post your feedback and opinions of the ISS Long Beach show
I came across this place the other day that has stock rhinestone transfers for really good prices, it was thompsontransfers.com I think, they had a pretty good selection and decent prices.
Re: Please post your feedback and opinions of the ISS Long Beach show
i still think the roland engravers that make the templates for rhinestone transfers are really cool.. I have an engraver but dont know if i can make it do that..
