Hi All, I will be hitting local retail stores here in the very near future. I have decided to go with a "Look Book" instead of a line sheet. I will have order forms and price lists. What do you guy's think? Is it a mistake not to use the line sheet? Thanks for your input.
I don't think it's a mistake, but a line sheet can be more helpful than a look book.
We thought about going with just a look book also, but decided to do a look book AND a line sheet.
From the retailer's point-of-view, they want to spend as little time as necessary ordering your products, even when it's something they really like.
So, having a line sheet with lots of product pics on each page, complete with style numbers and prices is great. They can scan and see what they want, and just jot in down on the order form.
The look book we are using as more of a marketing piece. It's got the same pics from that the line sheet has, just bigger, and without the wholesale prices. This way we can send the look books to publications and other things.
The retailers can see all of the fine detail with high-res pics in the look book, then when they are ready to order, they just grab the line sheet and order form!

That's a good point Greg. I think I will do a lil more work and get the line sheet going.
Thanks for your input.

the look book is for show, its like a catalog for the buyer to see. Usually showcases models/people wearing the clothing so people can get a picture of what it would actually look like.
Line sheet is mainly for orders from the buyer. Usually includes sketches/diagrams of the garments.
