For those of you selling your t-shirt designs one at a time on either an eCommerce site or at retail, what is the average number of shirts you sell/ship per order? The average is obviously higher than 1, and I would guess it's somewhat lower than 2, but I'm just not sure.
Re: For those of you selling retail, what is the average number of shirts sold per order?
There is no right answer here, because every business will vary, and even (I would think obviously) every order will be different.
Example: At our retail store we USED to average 2 shirts per sale (running at 2 for $20) But when we started selling Tapout shirts back in September, we went up to at least four shirts average (we have alot of people come in and buy at least 5 or 6 Tapout shirts at a time. Last Saturday, one woman bought EIGHT Tapout shirts.) So it all depends on your product, location, and customer. There really isn't an "average."
((I just realized I should mention, the Tapout shirts are NOT 2 for $20!!! They are $20.00 a piece. I thought I better mention that, especially due the fact that they are specific on their MSRP's.))

my t-shirt sales will be via my website only, and the site will be similar to a bustedtees.com type of site. if anyone has a similar site, what's the average number of shirts you sell per order?

Tapout is huge right now. We invested about $12,000 on our first couple orders, and we have already about sold through that first shipment. We have already placed a restock order. It will be around for awhile I believe, but right now, it is about the hottest thing going. We are still considering stocking the Affliction shirts, but I don't have to tell you how much they cost!

Anthony....here in Ohio, we've got the World Boxing Champ, Kelly Pavlik, advertising for "Affliction", wearing an Affliction shirt in most of his appearances on TV. On his ESPN special run up to his last fight, he was wearing a shirt we made for his "Team Pavlik"

We don't do much "walk in" retail. Most all of our shirts are custom made to customers specs. 15 to 1000....the smaller orders are for pool/dart teams, and non-varsity sports, dance studios, school shirts.
We also embroider anything and everything, and those orders can be piece meal or 100's.

I absolutely love the Affliction shirts...but....I hate to make this prediction, but I believe Affliction will only be a trend, and won't last forever. Tapout is here to stay. My reasoning in that has alot to do with the co-branding that Mask and the guys have done over the years. T.O. has become synonimous with the UFC. As long as there is a venue for MMA, there will be a home for Tapout.
