Default selling charity Tees to boutiques

Hi

I'm working on a t-shirt line for a charity. I was thinking about approaching boutiques so they could sell the tees. I was thinking I would offer the tees to the boutiques for free, then when a t-shirt sell we could maybe split the profits 70/30 ( 70 for the charity, 30 for the store) What do you think?

Thanks

Consignment isn't the best way to sell goods, but I guess it might work if you also just want to get your charity stuff out there in as many places as possible. 70/30 is unusual (though not unheard of); again things are different since it's a charity and people might be willing to support that, but 50/50 or 60/40 is more normal.

Basically though if the store owner doesn't specifically want to support your charity and have an interest in your product, it's not likely to yield a lot of sales. If it ends up on the shop floor at all it'll most likely be tucked away in a corner somewhere. On the other hand if they do support you, they might be willing to put you front and centre for the sake of PR / good will, etc.

So really it depends on how well stores react to what you're doing; you'll need to get out there and show your product around to find that out.
