Default How do you get into a large/full event??

I based a lg part of my business on being able to get into a large scottish festival -- got put on waiting list -- anyone deal with anything like this -- have you gone and just plead your case, marketed yourself to a place like this? Any tips on how to get into a backlogged, full, waiting list type large event? Any help/tips/anecdotes very appreciated!

Other than the waiting list:

1. Try to get a list of this year's (or last year) exhibitors and start calling the non-competitive ones to see if they may want to share their space/cost with you.

2. Consider becoming a sponsor if it comes with space. You would be surprised how little $ it takes sometimes.

3. Offer to supply the volunteer shirts (if that is the business you are in) or souvenir shirts in exchange for a booth (similar to #2).

Hey, good ideas, thank you! There are surprisingly stuffy and particular as to the protocol involved it seems. lol

I know my stuff is good, higher quality than anything I've seen there -- I kind of haven't kept bugging them -- but .. I am really tempted to call them and say "I'm back, can you update me on a wait list and can I come and give you a presentation of my wares?" They have asked for a brochure in the past, and I really didn't have one, though I had a web site, but.. like I said they seem unwilling to drift off of their narrow path of viewing potential vendors.
