Default Has anyone sold to online boutiques?

Hi there!
I wasn't sure where to post this, so please feel free to move to the correct section.

I am wondering if anyone has sold their shirts to any online boutiques? I feel my product is perfect for those shops that solely exist online. I have tried contacting some of the sites, but have not received any response. If anyone has any experience in this, would you mind sharing?

thanks so much.

Rachel

I moved it to the retail section... it says offline, and obviously you're asking about online, but a lot of the concerns are the same and it's basically that wholesale to retailers angle you're going for.

Maybe we should just whack a comma in the forum title to be more inclusive I've been thinking for a while it should encompass certain online things like this, online consignment, etc.

I know David from Seibei has (he's in Defunker). Hopefully there's some advice kicking around the forums waiting for a home

My line is currently stocked on www.OneAnthem.com and Vice Wears - Cutting Edge Clothing

both shops that exist soley online. For both of the companies they contact me first to stock the line, however it should be fairly easy to get into contact with an online boutique for stocking your line.

A lot of shops have contact pages that should have information for brands that are looking to have their lines stocked at a specific site. If not this a general email address for support is almost always on a site especially an online buisness.

If the site has neither of these you may want to rethink doing business with them in the first place.

Conducting business with an online retailer means that communication is going to be of the utmost importance. If you cannot even get into contact with them to consider stocking the line than when it comes time for you to get payed for your first shipment than you could be in an even worse position.

Hopefully I've been of some help...

I'm currently getting stocked by one online boutique, and it's been a very good experience! The guy who runs it is really nice and pays promptly.

I recommend checking out the other brands the boutiques you're looking at carry and contacting some of them to see how promptly they pay and how easy they are to deal with, because it's best to find these things out before your consignment checks are a month late and the person owning the business isn't answering the phone (or responding to emails).

It's also not unreasonable to ask things like how long they've been running the business and what kind of promotions and advertising they do (and are planning to do), what kind of press they've gotten. Generally store owners have a pretty clear sense of who their customers are, so don't be offended if they just don't think their customers will like your t-shirts.

While we are on the subject of online boutiques, I would like to know if anyone knows the names of more that exist besides the ones mentioned before, ftkonline, yukka and karmaloop.(preferably for streetwear)
